The Westerlands

There are many places in this realm that have allowed the civilization of mortal beings to thrive across the many ages of time despite struggles to survive. However, to a place so torn by war, famine, plague, pillaging, savage creatures, and reckless magic, the ages certainly have not been kind to the vast area of Avon known only as The Westerlands.

Throughout many ages, these lands harbored many peoples, many ideologies, many kingdoms, and much turmoil, and its political borders have changed many times. All of these populations mingle, yet are divided among each other, each inhabiting their respective “Wester Providence”, a fragment of the land that functions akin its own country, kingdom, or nation. One may barely see a single thing that gives these providences any form of shared identity enough to belong to a greater union. Yet, within the past hundred years, these providences have submitted to a very decentralized, yet banding government. It is believed that the sole nationalistic trait that all peoples from the Westerlands share is the resounding perseverance of those who inhabit the lands, despite a rather savage history.
